We are Decision Makers!
James 1:5
If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. –James 1:5
James also says that a double-minded man is unstable in all his ways (James 1:8). Have you ever met someone with triple or quadruple mindedness? I do not know what that is like, but I suspect that I have crossed paths with some of them. One thing I have discovered, it is not the difference between people we find most difficult; it is the indifference of people. There are literally fools that surround us. And they are growing in numbers. Talk about a field white to the harvest!
Today is Palm Sunday. This is the day marked out to see in history God’s provision of our Savior. He rode into Jerusalem to die on our behalf. The bulk of the multitudes gathered for Passover could care less about God’s offer of salvation. They were decision makers.
God wants us to be the most decisive people; He has sent His Son to die on our behalf and wants our decision as to whether Jesus will be our Lord and Savior. Not only did God give us His Son, He gives us His Word, and His Holy Spirit. He has provided all we need for right decisions. He expects us to live decisive lives.
The average man does not know what to do with this life, yet wants another one which will last forever. – Anatold France
The most unhappy people are those who can never make a decision. Indecisive people cannot belong to themselves. In not being able to decide, they allow another to make their decisions for them (what the governments currently pretends to do). Growth is not possible while one lets others make their decisions. Indecisive men and women are like blind people looking in a dark room for a black cat that is not there.
Satan uses neutral people. Jesus said Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters. –Matthew 12:30 Making no decision is still a decision. People, in fact, decide to spend eternity in hell.
Life Application
If we are to be decision-makers under the guidance of Scripture and the leading of the Holy Spirit, what is expected of our life. We have the where-with-all to help others make decisions on their eternity.
This time of the year that includes Palm Sunday is a critical juncture for people coming to a right relationship with Christ. You can have no greater encouragement during these days than to have the opportunity to share the Gospel with an unbeliever. God’s grace and mercy searches to draw unbelievers to Himself. It is a great privilege to be used of Him to share that truth.
Look for the opportunity. The time is right.
Praise the King
There’s a reason why the curse of sin is broken
There’s a reason why the darkness runs from light
There’s a reason why we stand here now forgiven
Jesus is alive
There’s a reason why we are not overtaken
There’s a reason why we sing on through the night
There’s a reason why our hope remains eternal
Jesus is alive
Praise the King, He is risen
Praise the King, He’s alive
Praise the King, death’s defeated
Hallelujah, He’s alive
Hallelujah, He’s alive
There’s a reason why our hearts can be courageous
There’s a reason why the dead are made alive
There’s a reason why we share His resurrection
Jesus is alive
Praise the King, He is risen
Praise the King, He’s alive
Praise the King, death’s defeated
Hallelujah, He’s alive
Hallelujah, He’s alive
The grave could not ignore it
When all of heaven’s roaring
Hell, where is your victory?
Death, where is your sting?
The world cannot ignore it
When all the saints are roaring
Praise the King, He is risen
Praise the King, He’s alive
Praise the King, death’s defeated
Hallelujah, He’s alive
Hallelujah, He’s alive
Hallelujah, He’s alive
Hallelujah, He’s alive
