Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to do it. –Proverbs 3:27
You cannot live a perfect day without doing something for someone who will never be able to repay you –John Wooden.
People might try to pick holes in this remark, but the principle of the statement is true. The powerful Scripture above speaks well into what John Wooden remarked. The inference is that we have the power in our hand to minister to others, should we choose to be obedient in doing it.
Some people confuse the words joy and happy, thinking they are the same, but they are not. Happy is rooted in events of life and are of various lengths of time. It is defined by the word happenings. Joy, on the other hand, is a character of God. When we share joy, that joy is vested in God; that joy is doubled because God desires the believer to have the same characteristics as He. Further, God desires us to respond to the people in need so to represent Him. We might think, well I am only one person. I cannot do everything. The truth is I can do something.

God has an encouragement for us—be an answer. Love the souls of others well. Get in the way of someone who is on the slippery slope to difficulty. Walk with someone who needs help and experiencing people walking away from them. No one is unimportant and there are no unimportant acts of care, compassion, or acts of kindness. Heart trouble for a believer is most often an uncaring and refusal to be an answer.
What are you contributing to others while you live? Does it include your contribution of answers to the problems people face, given that your answers come from the Scriptures? It is more blessed to give than to receive –Acts 20:35.
Life Application
God expects us to give of ourselves to others. It is interesting to see criticism often evaporate against those who follow the patterns of Scripture in relation to others in their neighborhood, community, nation, and with making the nations glad.
Our focus ought to be in making good relationships with others for the express intent of being an answer to their needs. We can make more friends in two months by helping them, than we can in two years by trying to get others to help us.

Just one act of ours may be all that it takes to turn the tie of another person’s life. Would it not be a privilege to impact another life so? Yes, it would.
